shipping policy

There are no guaranteed delivery windows or ship-by dates for custom glove orders.

A custom glove, or custom fitted glove, is a glove that is built to your chosen specs after your order is placed. You can find these here: CUSTOM GLOVES

We’ll do our best to update consumers if there are unforeseen delays.

Custom glove orders on average take an estimated 8-10 weeks to hand make by our expert leather craftsmen and craftswomen. This is an average estimation window, not a delivery date. We do not guarantee delivery dates because of the type of leather that we use and the amount of detail put into our gloves.

Every custom glove is hand made, hand embroidered, hand stamped, hand stitched hand laced, hand cut to deliver a true piece of handmade art fit for big league play that will last. We do not simply print or paint on our gloves to bring to life the designs because printing and painting does not last over time.

We use only the best Japanese kip leather for our custom gloves and X, the artist behind the pieces you see here, is very particular on the quality and look of the gloves that are made. For example, though rare, sometimes we could have a leather tanned to be a specific color and the color doesn't come out the way it did in the first batch that were shown in the website photos of the cowhides that we made which means that we have to have it re-tanned, which is a 3 month process to do correctly without damaging the leather. There are other unforeseen circumstances, though rare, such as supply chain shortages that we cannot foresee in advance due to the fact that the custom gloves are not made until an order is placed. Since we do not use just any leather, but only use the best Japanese kip leather and we only use the best leather workers, there is not an abundant supply available leather in all colors at all times nor is there an abundant supply of leather workers of our skill level, and we will not sacrifice on quality of these one of a kind hand made art pieces.

about absolutely ridiculous

✘ is the artist and creator behind the products and vision of Absolutely Ridiculous. Absolutely Ridiculous is simply the creative outlet of ✘'s imagination.

He combines ideas of art, fashion, music, culture and sports to create functional pieces of art.

✘ is an artist and former athlete based out of Nashville, TN that started Absolutely Ridiculous to help get his art out into the world and inspire self expression and fun in sports.

✘ thinks different and doesn't try to fit in. If it is normal, he will do the opposite. Absolutely Ridiculous is about the art, the sport, and fully entrusting your imagination unapologetically.

✘ is the artists alias to allow the magic to never be lost in an individual, but to inspire others that they too can have their ideas become reality.

We can't take the blame for this. That is thanks to all of you. Our goal is no

The artist ✘ aka Imagined by ✘ designed the first ice cream glove in 2015 prior to releasing it for sale in 2020. Since then it has taken off after he formed Absolutely Ridiculous, and had players like All-Star Jazz Chisholm wearing the Ice Cream gloves on the world's biggest stage.

The Ice Cream Glove design was inspired by the "snow cone catch" ✘ was 11 years old and first had the idea for the Ice Cream Glove design, and he brought the idea to life 20 years later.

If it is designed by ✘, it will say Imagined by ✘ on the piece and sales page. If it is not, it will not state that.

We do not have phone support at this time due to our small team.

The team doing our customer service is also the team packing and shipping your orders right now as we launched officially in 2021. It was just February 2023 that we moved out of X's garage into Studio X in Nashville. We aim to offer phone support sometime in 2024 as we train and grow our team.

new art releases

Sliding mitts typically drop weekly.

We aim to have 1-3 designs available on the website to go along with our drops. Due to high demand, it has been difficult to keep up with demand as it takes about 4 months to make one batch of sliding mitts and by the time they're done, the demand has changed, which is why they continue to sell out as fast as they are.

We aim to have at least 1 rare edition drop per month.

This varies from piece to piece but they have ranged from 500 - 5,000, with 2,000 being the norm. The sliding mitts ARE NOT limited editions or RARE Editions unless specifically stated. Limited quantity does not mean Limited Edition. Limited quantity simply means that there is not an endless supply to remind the purchaser that it is possible that it could sell out.

Not every drop of ours is a limited edition or rare edition drop. In fact, most aren't. It will be specifically stated when it is a product that is being released that will never be sold again once it's sold out.

"Limited" is a word we use to make it clear that there is not an endless supply of inventory for a product being released, so don't be surprised if it sells out fast. This does not mean we won't restock it.

RARE Edition however means once it's sold out, that exact release from X will never be sold again. If it does not say RARE Edition, then it will likely be released or restocked again down the road.

RARE Edition's are authenticated original pieces from X that once they sell out, they will never be sold again. These are high collectible, unique, and low quantity releases. Think of them as buying 1 of XX number of prints of a painting or NFT. Once sold out, the only way to get one would be through a reseller. We make it very clear when a piece is a RARE Edition.

RARE Editions do come with authentication certificates signed by X and are numbered.

RARE Editions also carry other perks that vary based on the release such as access to other drops only RARE Edition owners have access to, customized packaging, etc.

This has been difficult for some to grasp because for a century baseball and sports equipment has not been looked at as art. It has simply been looked at as a tool to help you perform better, especially in baseball.

X views things different. He wanted to create art, art that can be sold in a gallery, put on a mantle, displayed to liven up a room and tell a story. His passion is baseball, his background is baseball, and the art that inspires him is art that can be used playing the sports that he loves.

Because of his passion for baseball and for sports, he didn't wan to make art that simply sat on a shelf, he wanted to make art that could be used by the best athletes in the world to inspire younger athletes to share their own self expression and have fun playing the sport they love.

X takes an approach that every piece he creates has to be equal or better quality and performance than the best comparable sporting good product on the market, while at the same time being a design fully cut and sewn that nobody has ever seen before.

Though his design strategy is a secret, every piece sold by Absolutely Ridiculous truly is a one of a kind piece of art, and throughout the entire experience from the way the piece smells, feels and looks to the music, the visuals and stories connected to each piece, you will never find an experience quite like X's living art through Absolutely Ridiculous.

X aims to engulf every piece of art that he creates into the theme the art is built around. When you come to Absolutely Ridiculous, you aren't coming for a product, you're coming for an experience, and our goal is deliver an experience unlike anything you've experienced before. Terminology is just one of those small details that helps us bring that experience to life.

Every glove is handmade with Professional Quality Japanese Kip Leather. It is possible that the glove coloring may arrive a shade or two darker or lighter than the photos due to the 3 month long tanning process of the cowhide which is impossible to match perfectly each time. Each glove may have subtle differences in stamping, foiling, and embroidery as each piece is a handmade piece of art. No one glove is identical because of our handmade process and focus on art and quality.

Use this text to answer questions in as much detail as possible for your customers.

Professional grade Japanese kip leather, which is the best leather in the world at this time for baseball gloves. The same leather that All-Star Jazz Chisholm Jr. uses as his every day gamer.

At this time we're not offering custom designs for sliding mitts due to the high cost to make them.

Coming soon!

Absolutely Ridiculous is more of an art gallery than a sporting goods store. Each design has different textures and features that make it difficult to offer customizations to the gloves as the embroidery could distort the design of the glove. Because of this, we do not offer custom name embroidery to assure the glove arrives with the design you saw in the images.

The baseball and softball gloves themselves do not come scented. We do sell scented natural glove conditioner however to bring the "flavor" of your glove to life to make it smell like the gloves theme. At this time we only suggest using the conditioner on the baseball and softball gloves.
